The new Butcher in The Orchards

A new butchers opened in The Orchards Shopping Centre yesterday stocking a wide range of fresh meats including kidneys, liver, mince, cheese, duck eggs and freshly made sausages.
P&P Family Butchers and Delicatessen opened its doors to the public for the first time on the morning of Friday 14 March 2014 with shoppers welcoming the news. The previous independent butchers closed their shop in The Orchards a few months ago.
The shop was formally opened by co-owners Peter and Paul at lunchtime in the presence of Centre Manager Nicola Bird whilst passing shoppers were treated to glasses of Prosecco from nearby wine merchant Grape & Grain and sandwiches made from fresh, quality bread from Real Patisserie in Brighton.
In a stereotypical butcher-like fashion, Peter ignored the scissors proffered by Paul, instead slicing through the ribbon in one strike with a butchers knife.
Both Peter and Paul are keen to stock local produce which is exemplified by them retailing a range of jellies and ketchups produced by Haywards Heath firm Lily's Chillies.
Despite only just opening, Peter and Paul are already looking at expanding their range of products and services with frozen fish being available from Monday.
To help Peter with the day-to-day running of the business, they have taken on enthusiastic nineteen year-old Joe as an apprentice butcher.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5:30pm.
