Haywards Heath is covered by several local partnerships as well as local branches of national business organisations.
Coast to Capital
Haywards Heath is in the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership which was formed in 2011. It covers Brighton & Hove, Croydon, Gatwick Diamond, Lewes and West Sussex. The LEP is led by the business community and supported by local authorities, businesses and academic institutions. It does not provide direct delivery of business support services but does identify priorities and strategies for improving local transport, housing and skills development.
Confederation of British Industries
The CBI is a business lobbying organisation at the national and international level for all types and size of firms. The South East office is based in London.
Enterprise Rockers started in January 2012 and is a free to join UK based community interest company supporting micro business owners – businesses that have fewer than ten members of staff.
Federation of Small Businesses
Established in 1974, the FSB is the largest campaigning pressure group in the UK, promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and small business owners.
Haywards Heath is covered by the Crawley, Horsham & Mid Sussex Branch of the FSB.
Forum of Private Business
The FPB was established in 1977 as a lobbying group for small businesses but now provides business support services as well, promoting growth of small firms from all sectors across the UK. It offers three levels of membership including a free option providing some information and a weekly newsletter.
The Gatwick Diamond is a business-led partnership that covers Brighton, Croydon, Mid Sussex, Crawley and Horsham. It works with businesses, business organisations, colleges and universities, local authorities and Government agencies, focusing on key strategic issues and promotes the area's particular strengths.
Institute of Directors
The Institute of Directors is over 100 years old and the Sussex branch has over 1,400 members with events across East and West Sussex. It provides networking opportunities, legal and tax advice lines, all aspects of business advice and training and development opportunities.
Mid Sussex District Council
Mid Sussex District Council provides information for businesses in the area, including grants and funding information, an online local business directory and a list of commercial property agents.
Sussex Enterprise is the Chamber of Commerce for Sussex and one of the largest in the country with over 2,000 member companies.
Sussex Women in Business
Sussex Women in Business is a voluntary network that began in Haywards Heath in the early 1990s but is now based in Horsham. It provides regular networking events and guest speakers. Its members range from freelancers and the self-employed to women holding management and professional positions in large companies and multi-nationals.
West Sussex County Council
West Sussex County Council provides information for businesses in the county.
West Sussex Sustainable Business Partnership
Formed in 1998 by West Sussex County Council, the West Sussex Sustainable Business Partnership is now a Community Interest Company with other Partnerships across the South East. It works with businesses, social enterprises and the public sector to reduce costs through improving resource efficiency. Membership is free and you receive a monthly email, invitations to network events and a place in their online Network Directory.
