Located on Wivelsfield Road just after it finishes as Sussex Road and before Sainsbury's Local, the United Services Club is one of the oldest clubs in Haywards Heath, dating back to 1921. However, now it also trades as Haywards Heath Social Club and anyone over 18 can become a member.
The Club has a Snooker Hall with four full-size snooker tables, Pool, Darts and Bar Billiards, all of which have teams in the relevant Mid Sussex leagues as well as the football team United Services FC.
The Club has Bingo every Thursday night and Quiz Night every Sunday.
Poker Night is every Tuesday which is also open to non-members.
Chess is on Wednesday nights.
Live Music every Saturday night from 9pm – often a band, but sometimes solo and duo artists perform live. There is a £1 entrance fee for non-members.
The Club has other events that are less regular, including Race Nights, Karaoke and Discos.
The Club has a large projector screen in the main bar and members can now watch live sports on TV as we have Sky Sports.
On the first floor is a large function room with stage one end and bar the other that can accommodate 150 people which can be booked free by members. There is also a small front bar on the ground floor that can have up to 60 people and is good for private informal meetings with plenty of free parking at the rear of the building. Availability and bookings for the function room should be made to the Secretary, Pam Smith in person or on the office phone (01444 455 885) on weekdays between 9am and 5pm. Please note we do not cater for children's parties.
